Installation
System Requirements
Before installing the Hikmadh AI Chatbot, make sure your environment meets the following requirements:
Magento 2.4.x
PHP 7.4 or higher
OpenAI API Key (Optional – required only for AI features)
Upload Extension Files
Extract the extension package and upload it to:
app/code/Hikmadh/Chatbot/
Make sure the folder structure remains intact.
Enable the Module
Run the following Magento CLI commands:
php bin/magento module:enable Hikmadh_Chatbot
php bin/magento setup:upgrade
php bin/magento setup:di:compile
php bin/magento setup:static-content:deploy -f
php bin/magento cache:flush
Verify Installation
After running the commands, log in to your Magento Admin panel.
Navigate to:
Stores → Configuration → General → AI Chatbot
Ensure the module appears in the configuration section.
Activate Chatbot
Set Enable Chatbot = Yes
Save configuration and clear cache if required.
The chatbot icon will now appear
in the bottom-right corner of your storefront.

To configure the Hikmadh AI Chatbot, navigate to:
Admin Panel → Stores → Configuration → General → AI Chatbot

Enable Chatbot
Activate or deactivate the chatbot widget on the frontend.
Product Link Strategy
Choose how product links behave when a child product is found.
• Redirect to Parent – Opens the configurable product page.
• Show Child Product – Opens the specific simple product page.
Chatbot Title
Set the main title displayed in the chatbot header.
Chatbot Subtitle
Define the subtitle shown below the chatbot title.
Welcome Message
Customize the initial greeting message shown when the chat opens.
Search Placeholder Text
Set the placeholder text inside the chat input field.
Auto Delete Chat History (Days)
Automatically remove stored chat history after the defined number of days. Set 0 to disable auto deletion.

Turn on AI-powered responses for intelligent conversations.
Disable to use only product search and order tracking features.
OpenAI API Key
Enter your secret API key from platform.openai.com.
Required only if OpenAI integration is enabled.
